Huawei Inks Network Expansion Deal with Ufone

Chinese Huawei has obtained a US$550-million network expansion deal from Ufone, one of Pakistan's leading telecoms. Starting from November 2006, Ufone is to implement the said project with network infrastructure conforming to 3GPP Release 4 standards, provided by Huawei. On the agenda is further elevation of network capacity and coverage as well as launching EDGE-based high-speed wireless data services in over 1,500 cities.
